Main purpose of the role: Develop and implement the digital marketing strategy and plan for search engine marketing, Google display network, affiliate programs, CPM (cost per thousand) based campaigns, e-mail marketing and other online marketing initiatives that drive qualified traffic to the website (web/mobile web and app) with a strong focus on app acquisition and retention, user registration and transactions. The brand manager will also be responsible for electronic customer lifecycle communications and growing our opted-in brand newsletter bases as well as all ATL campaigns and brand marketing strategies

Minimum Requirements
• BA degree in communication or relevant qualification.
• Minimum 5+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally working on a digital brand.
Prior Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital marketing channels – particularly SEM, content targeting, CPM based campaigns, and affiliate strategies and how they can be deployed in different scenarios; • Good technical understanding and ability to pick up new tools quickly; Understanding of the South African internet landscape.

Duties & Responsibilities
•Work with the GM and publishers to develop a clearly defined digital marketing strategy that is aligned with the overall marketing strategy, and focused on delivering against the key marketing objectives;
• Devise, implement, track, optimise and report on online marketing channel initiatives – focused on driving app downloads and app user retention
• Work with business intelligence to track conversion rates (registrations, downloads, sales) by marketing channel – and optimise activities accordingly;
• Work with product team to optimise conversions by making improvements to the site
• Manage and oversee agency partner relationships for online and offline B2B and B2C marketing campaigns • Work with BI to track key performance indicators and, based on analysis, report on performance and trends • Develop and manage all digital customer lifecycle communications
• Work with the creative team and/or freelance resources to produce direct digital marketing communications to the customer base, or other opted-in databases
• Evaluate network-centric affiliate marketing opportunities and sign up affiliates where relevant
• Provide key insights on competitor online activities and strategies to compete more effectively
• Provide marketing thought leadership to organisation and stay current with recent developments and industry trends.
• Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing
• Manage, track and report on the digital marketing budget • Support associate development of team members and provide opportunities for associates to take ownership of initiatives and coaching to successful completion.
